AutoDrill FR – Practice Automation

This workflow creates a personalized French conjugation drill based on a learner's past performance to help reinforce weaker verb tenses and types. It generates a daily set of practice questions, sends them as an email to the learner, and provides a separate answer key for the tutor or teacher.

It does 5 things:

1. Retrieves and simulates the learner's conjugation history, including strengths, weaknesses, recent errors, and previous focus areas.
2. Uses AI to analyze the learner's data and generate an adaptive set of exactly ten conjugation drill questions that focus on weak tenses and verb types while including recent mistakes.
3. Parses and extracts structured drill data from the AI-generated output to ensure it is valid JSON.
4. Creates a friendly, clear email for the learner that lists the day's drill questions without giving any answers.
5. Sends the email to the learner and also compiles an answer key email for the tutor's reference.

What you need

1. An account with Needle platform to build and run workflows.
2. Access to a French language AI tutor or AI model capable of generating conjugation drills.
3. An email connector, such as Gmail, with necessary authorization to send emails.
4. Learner data accessible via database or Google Sheets (simulated in this template).

How the flow works

Simulate Learner History Starts by defining the learner’s profile and history, including their name, email, level, total drills completed, weak and strong verb tenses, and recent errors.

Generate Adaptive Drill with AI Feeds the learner’s history to an AI expert system that selects a new conjugation tense and verb types to focus on, avoiding repetition of the last focus. It then produces ten targeted drill questions that mix persons and target recent errors.

Parse AI Output Cleans and parses the AI’s output to extract the JSON object with focus tense, verb types, and the list of drill items while handling any extra formatting.

Create Drill Email Formats a clear and friendly email for the learner. It includes a greeting, the focus for the day, a numbered list of questions with blanks to fill in, and instructions on how to reply with answers. No answers are included in this message.

Send Email Uses the Gmail connector to send the crafted email directly to the learner’s email address.

Compile Answer Key Email Separately prepares an answer key based on the same drill data for tutors or teachers to review the correct responses.

Output

At the end of the workflow, the learner receives an email containing a personalized French conjugation practice drill tailored to their weaknesses. The tutor also obtains a corresponding answer key for evaluation or feedback purposes.

Notes

1. The learner’s history is simulated here, but connecting to a real database or spreadsheet will make the drills truly adaptive.
2. The workflow ensures the learner never sees the correct answers in the practice email to encourage independent problem solving.
3. Recent errors are emphasized in the drills to help address recurring mistakes.
4. Changing the AI model or parameters allows tweaking the difficulty and style of drills.
5. Keep email authorizations and data privacy configurations up to date for smooth operation.
