- Defines a set of competitors with their relevant search terms.
- Researches each competitor using AI-powered internet search and web browsing to gather recent news, Reddit discussions, reviews, and strategic information.
- Edits and formats all collected reports into a clean, professional HTML email digest with an executive summary and actionable insights.
- Cleans up the HTML and generates an email subject line with the current date.
- Sends the email to the specified recipients via Gmail.
What You Need
- A Needle account with access to workflow automation features.
- A Gmail account connected through the platform for sending emails.
- Basic knowledge of your competitors, or the ability to edit search terms in the code node.
How the Flow Works

|---|---|---|
| 1 | Scheduled Trigger | Fires every day at 7:00 AM Europe/Berlin time. |
| 2 | Code (Define Competitors) | Defines an array of competitors (e.g., Samsung, Huawei, LG) with associated search terms. |
| 3 | AI Agent (Research) | For each competitor, performs targeted internet research covering news, Reddit, reviews, product launches, and strategic moves. Compiles a detailed report per competitor. |
| 4 | AI Agent (Editor) | Combines all competitor reports and formats them into a styled HTML email with an executive summary and actionable insights. |
| 5 | Code (Cleanup) | Strips any extraneous formatting from the HTML output and generates a date-stamped email subject line. |
| 6 | Gmail (Send Email) | Sends the formatted briefing email to designated recipients. |
Output

Customization Tips
- Competitors and search terms: Edit the code node early in the flow to add, remove, or change competitors and their associated search terms.

- Schedule and timezone: Adjust the scheduled trigger if you want the briefing at a different time or in a different timezone.
- Recipients: Update the Gmail node to send the digest to different team members or distribution lists.
- Email styling: The HTML uses inline CSS for maximum compatibility across email clients.
Notes
- Make sure your Gmail connection is authorized and capable of sending HTML emails.
- This workflow is ideal for competitive intelligence analysts, market researchers, product managers, and strategy teams who need a quick daily overview of the competitive landscape.
