Latest War News to Gmail
This workflow automatically gathers the most recent updates on specific global conflicts and sends you a detailed HTML email briefing every day. It helps you stay on top of critical military developments in key regions without having to search multiple news sources.
It does three things:
- Runs every day at midnight UTC to trigger the workflow.
- Uses an AI agent with web browsing capabilities to search and summarize the latest war and military conflict news from the last 4 hours (or 24 hours if no recent news is found).
- Sends the AI-generated, richly formatted HTML report directly to your Gmail inbox.
What You Need
- A Needle platform account where you can set up and run the workflow.
- Access to Needle's AI tools with web search and browsing enabled.
- A Gmail account connected via OAuth to send emails through the Pipedream Gmail connector.
How the Flow Works

Output
You receive a well-structured HTML email titled "⚔️ War Intelligence Brief — [current UTC time]" containing:
- Latest headlines and concise summaries for each monitored conflict zone (e.g., Israel–Iran, Taiwan Strait, Japan, Pakistan–Afghanistan).
- Threat level assessments and reasoning per zone.
- A key takeaway summarizing the most critical developments across all regions.
The email uses emojis, headers, bullet points, and horizontal rules for clarity and easy reading.

You can customize these zones by editing the AI agent's prompt to match the regions you care about most.
Notes
- The AI agent strictly uses verified news sources like Reuters, AP, BBC, Al Jazeera, Times of India, and official government or military statements.
- If no significant news is found within the last 4 hours, it expands the search to the past 24 hours and notes this in the report.
- The schedule can be adjusted by changing the cron expression in the trigger to fit your desired update frequency (e.g., every 6 hours, twice a day).
- Make sure your Gmail connector has proper OAuth permissions to send emails on your behalf.
- The flow automatically removes any markdown code fences from the HTML output before sending the email to ensure clean formatting.
