Attio

Sync your team's LinkedIn activity to your Attio People.

What it does

Needle writes your team's LinkedIn activity to the People in your Attio workspace: when an invite or message went out, when the person accepted a connection request or replied, and which account and teammate were behind it. Your team sees in Attio where each conversation stands.

Needle writes to Attio. From Attio it only picks up merges and deletes of people it synced, so it keeps writing to the right person. LinkedIn is synced today.

Connecting

In Settings > Integrations, select Connect Attio and approve the access in Attio. Approving needs an admin of the Attio workspace. Needle then adds its fields to your Attio People, which takes a few seconds.

Any member can connect Attio when it isn't connected yet. Only the member who connected it, or a workspace admin or owner, can change its settings or disconnect it. An Attio workspace can be connected to one Needle workspace at a time.

Attio works on every plan, including the free trial. When the trial ends without a paid plan, syncing stops, and activity from that time isn't sent later.

What is synced

Only activity from connected accounts shared with everyone in the workspace is synced; private accounts stay out of Attio. See Who can do what. All events below are ticked when you connect. Untick any under Events sent to Attio in the Attio settings.

Fields

Needle adds these fields to your Attio People. Each title ends in "- Needle", and each has a description in Attio.

FieldWhat it holds
Lead id - NeedleThe Needle lead id, so an Attio workflow or agent can call the Needle API for this person
LinkedIn connection status - Needle"Invited", "Connected", "In conversation", or "Not connected"
First LinkedIn contact at - NeedleWhen your team first reached out by invite or message
Last LinkedIn invite sent at, sent by, actor - NeedleWhen the last invite went out, the LinkedIn account that sent it, and the teammate behind it
Last LinkedIn invite accepted at - NeedleWhen they last accepted an invite
Connected on LinkedIn with - NeedleYour LinkedIn accounts they are connected with

Campaign - NeedleThe campaign they were last added to
Do not contact - NeedleTicked when they are on your suppression list
Activity - NeedleA link to their activity in Needle

The "sent by" and "received by" fields hold the LinkedIn account, like Ana Lopez (linkedin.com/in/ana-lopez). The "actor" fields hold the teammate in Needle, like Ben Carter <ben@example.com>: who sent the message by hand, approved it, or started the campaign that sent it. Under Needle fields in Attio you can sync a value to one of your own fields of the same type instead, or choose Don't sync.

Notes

Each invite note, message, and reply becomes one note on the person, dated when it was sent. The title says who wrote to whom, for example "LinkedIn: Message sent · Ana Lopez (by Ben Carter) → Sam Reed" or "LinkedIn: Reply received · Sam Reed → Ana Lopez". Turn off Message notes to keep message text out of Attio.

When people appear in Attio

Needle adds a person to Attio at the first real contact: a connection request sent or accepted, a message sent, or a reply. When a lead could be more than one Attio person, it waits under Needs review in the Attio settings until a member picks the right one.

On the lead page

The Attio tile shows whether the lead is in Attio and links to their person. Add to Attio adds a lead before their first contact, and Add to Attio again adds back someone deleted in Attio. Any member can use them.

Activity

The Activity tab in the Attio settings lists the last 25 leads synced, newest first, with a link to each person in Attio.

Import from Attio

Import Attio People as Needle leads, from the lists you pick or from all people. Only people with a LinkedIn profile in Attio are imported, and people already in Needle stay as they are. People in the lists you pick under Suppression are imported too, and added to your suppression list. One import reads up to 100,000 people.

Disconnecting

Disconnecting stops syncing, and activity not yet synced is dropped. The fields and notes already in Attio stay.

Tips

  • To see everyone Needle has synced, make a People view in Attio filtered on "Lead id - Needle" is not empty.
  • To see who is waiting for an answer, filter on "Waiting on us (LinkedIn) - Needle", then reply from the Needle inbox, or let your agent reply through the Needle MCP.
  • To follow up with people who went quiet, add a wait and a message step to the Needle campaign, so Needle sends the follow-up.
